The Most Powerful Force in the World

Just this weekend, 98 students from Harvard had the opportunity to listen to Warren Buffett in person. In his speech, Warren Buffett shared what he thought was the most powerful force in the world (it’s not money) and his tips for financial success.
Here are some quotes from that session:
Unconditional love is the most powerful force in the universe. I got unconditional love from my parents…and I’ve been blessed in that I love what I’m doing so much that I have no desire to get away. I’m playing in my playground and I don’t let the world decide my schedule.
Investing is not about having a 200 IQ. You need a sound temperament and the ability to think for yourself. Institutions get caught up in fads, [and] you have to keep your own scorecard.
The one thing you can be sure of (refering to U.S. investment in China), is it will eventually go too far. You have the innovators, the imitators, and the swarming incompetents. The innovators usually go in for good reasons, but by the end, people go in simply because it is going up.
There’s nothing more satisfying in life than helping someone become bigger and better than they thought they could be.
