Wireless

Dr Clemen talks about a company that has invested in Bangladesh’s Pacific Bangladesh Telecom, Indonesia’s Telkomsel, Pakistan, Australia’s Optus and Hong Kong. This company is Singapore’s SingTel. He gives the stock a strong recommendation due to its strategic global investments.

Travel

World’s largest carrier by market capitalization. Ranked 6th in the world in term of international passenger numbers. Dr Clemen recommended Singapore Airlines because he felt the global air travel industry would boom and SIA is well positioned with its latest Airbus first mover advantage.

Galileo

Galileo Positioning System is a planned Global Navigation Satellite System, an alternative to the US Global Positioning System and the Russian GLONASS. It would be operational by 2011-2012.

In the future, every car will have in-built navigation system. Nearly all PDA and portable computer manufacturer have announced they will be making products with this new GPS techonology.

The company developing this techonology is NASDAQ: SIRF.

Casino

There are two companies that will profit tremendously from the casinos (or integrated resorts) to be built in Singapore. NYSE: LVS and NASDAQ:Wynn.

Virtualization

Virtualization allows to transform hardware into software. NYSE:VMW.

Sage

Dr Clemen recommended buying Berkshire Hathaway shares and attending the AGM to meet Warren Buffett. He jokingly said that we better do it fast as we might not have another chance to meet Buffett. When a person started to do things like giving away most of his wealth, it is a sign he is going to die soon!

IPO

Dr Clemen mentioned that IPO can be an easy way to make money, IF you participate before the IPO. He recommended Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR), a private equity fund that is about to go public in the near future.

Lifestyle

Dr Clemen recommended getting a property on the Sentosa cove.

Mobility

The company producing Blackberry has gotten the rights to sell the product in China after 8 long years. NASDAW:RIMM & TSX:RIM.

i-trend

The next big thing for product is no longer music, but video. He is impressed with the new iPod nano and iphone.

Dr Clemen next talks about the timing for buying of shares. He shares about his freely method, which takes into account fundamental analysis, technical analyis and gapping analysis.

I find that Dr Clemen’s presentation and analysis was pretty much geared towards the novice investor. Regular readers of my blog will probably not pick up much from his ideas.
